In 2013, EWAKI was awarded as the 2^nd best CSO in Tanzania by the Foundation for Civil Society. The competition involves over 600 Civil Society Organizations in Tanzania.

Keen! Always keen at heart! Madam Kokupima of the elderly, for the elderly and by the elderly. Despite her age of 87 years, Executive Chairperson of EWAKI keenly taking notes from feedback given by Songa mbele group. The energy and passion for the welfare of the elderly is simply unmatched.

During a visit at an elderly income generation group known as “songa mbele” (In English.. “March forward”). The visit took place in October 2021. The group indulges itself in aquaculture (Fish keeping). The visit was supported by Segal Family Foundation. Here the group present the report on its activities. As usual inclusivity is evident and elders of yesterday, today, tomorrow and day after tomorrow are part of membership of the group.
